It is no secret that Team India and the men from the Caribbean go along really well. The camaraderie whether it is between Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar or the Prince of Trinidad Brian Lara or between former Royal Challengers Bangalore teammates Virat Kohli and the ‘Universe Boss’ or Sunil Gavaskar and the original Master Blaster Sir Vivian Richards has been well documented in the past.

Another such camaraderie that we have seen developed during the course of the past decade is between Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma and his Caribbean all-rounder teammate and current West Indies white-ball captain Kieron Pollard. Both Rohit and Pollard have been in the thick of things as far as Mumbai Indians winnings four Indian Premier League titles and share a good bond with each other.

So, it came as a huge surprise to fans on social media when Pollard proceeded to unfollow his Mumbai Indians skipper on Twitter. Rohit too was befuddled with the proceedings and shared his emotions on social media with a series of ‘angry’ emoticons.

However, it was all for a promotional cause to notch up the excitement level for the upcoming IND-WI series. A few days ago, Star Sports, the official broadcaster of the series had shared an advertisement, featuring both Rohit and Pollard. In the hilarious video, the Mumbai Indians’ skipper can be seen leaving Pollard midway on the road after picking him up from the airport.

India is on a six-match winning streak against West Indies in T20Is

Meanwhile, the World Twenty20 Champions are all set to resume another bilateral series against the Men in Blue. Pollard’s men will feature in three Twenty20 Internationals and as many One-day Internationals. This will be the third white-ball series rubbers that both sides will play in the last 13 months. West Indies toured India last year for a full series where they were defeated by 0-2 in the Test series, 1-3 in ODI series and were whitewashed in the shortest format of the game.

Earlier this year, Team India toured the Caribbean islands for another full-series where they once again whitewashed the World Twenty20 Champions in the T20I series 3-0 before winning the One-day series 2-0 and the Test match rubber by 2-0. The West Indies are on a six-match losing streak and Pollard’s men will hope to reverse the proceedings and will come into this series on the back of 1-2 series defeat against Afghanistan.

As for Team India, Virat Kohli is back at the helm while Kuldeep Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Shami, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar made their return. The three-match T20I series will kickstart in Hyderabad on December 06.
