Hobart Hurricanes sign English all-rounder Tom Curran for BBL 07
Tom Curran made his T20 debut, earlier this year against South Africa and claimed 3 wickets in an impressive performance.
The Hobart Hurricanes announced the signing of English cricketer Tom Curran for the Big Bash League’s seventh edition. Curran becomes the second England cricketer to join the franchise along with teammate Tymal Mills. It comes as a big opportunity for the young speedster to show his talent and abilities in the big tournament. He also stated that he follows the BBL and always wanted to be a part of it.

He had a great domestic season in England and is looking forward to play a big role for the Hurricanes franchise. Curran also revealed his excitement of playing alongside George Bailey and other big names in the BBL franchise.
The excitement and opportunity of the new journey
The 22-year old English cricketer stated that it is a honour to be part of the Hobart Hurricanes franchise and sees this chance as a big opportunity in his career. “I can’t wait, it’s a great opportunity and an honour to be involved with the Hobart Hurricanes,” said Curran as quoted by CricBuzz.
He also revealed he is a big fan of the T20 league and is a keen follower of the mega event. The fast bowler also said that he had a talk with many of his English teammates who have been part of the BBL in the past. “We follow the Big Bash quite a lot in England – it’s one of the biggest T20 competitions in the world. Listening to other English players who have played in the tournament they’ve only got great things to say about it. I can’t wait to join the squad and the coaching staff in Tasmania,” he added.

On playing in the same side with George Bailey
The English all-rounder also said that he is pretty much excited to play alongside Aussie cricketer George Bailey, who is a also a part of the Hurricanes side. “I’m glad he’s on my side – he loves batting against Surrey and I’ve got some bad memories from a personal perspective bowling to him. But he’s a great guy and I can’t wait to work alongside him at the Hurricanes,” concluded Curran.
