At a time when the general mass is calling for war with Pakistan in the wake of the ghastly terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir, veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has come up with another solution. The whole country is still in a state of shock and despair after the dastardly attack on the CRPF personnel last week. In one of the worst attacks on the Indian security forces, at least 44 CRPF personnel lost their lives on Thursday after an SUV loaded with explosives rammed into a truck carrying the soldiers.
Since the attack, a wave of outrage and anger has covered the country and rightly so. The act was nothing less than inhuman and has been condemned worldwide. But while the majority think war or a surgical strike is the best possible answer, Ashwin thinks otherwise. The Test spin spearhead feels it is high time to find a permanent solution in order to bring an end to these dastardly acts.
He took to Twitter to express his views, writing, “As families try to bear the loss of their dear ones, these sort of incidences have been happening far too frequently and I really hope that there is a permanent solution achieved. The blood shed by our Jawans should at least matter for the cause. Jai Hind”

Bilateral ties take a hit
In the wake of the attack, the already tensed bilateral relationship between India and Pakistan is set to be further deteriorated. India and Pakistan have not played a bilateral series since 2012 and the resumption is unlikely in the near future. Both the countries have only played against each other in ICC tournaments or the Asia Cup. However, there are now calls to boycott Pakistan in the upcoming World Cup.
On Sunday, the IMG-Reliance also ended its ties with Pakistan Super League and thus stopped the worldwide broadcasting of the game. DSport, which was broadcasting the games in India, had also done the same on Saturday.
