Hotstar to air a documentary "Roar of the Lion" on MS Dhoni, detailing his life

MS Dhoni is perhaps one of the most popular cricketers ever in India. He has reached the levels of fame that only Sachin Tendulkar achieved, and Dhoni’s accomplishments for the Indian team has made him dear to his fans. With the realization that his career is in the twilight, his popularity is soaring more than ever before.
He debuted for India way back in 2004 against Bangladesh and scored a duck on debut. He was also criticized for this wicket-keeping skills as both his batting and keeping was not copybook style and didn’t follow the coaching manual. But still, MS Dhoni persisted and since then, has gone on to achieve fame as perhaps the greatest finishers of all time in limited-overs cricket.
The veteran has captained the Indian team, won great laurels and is the only captain to win all the three ICC tournaments- The World T20 in 2007, the ICC World Cup in 2011 and Champions Trophy in 2013. Since his debut, Dhoni has played 90 Tests scoring 4,876 runs, but announcement retirement in 2014. He has appeared in 339 ODIs and 98 T20Is for India as well and has more than 10,000 runs in ODI format.

It has been reported that HotStar, the online streaming service of Star TV will be chronicling the life in detail of former India captain MS Dhoni. The web documentary will be titled “Roar of the Lion” and will air on HotStar.
Recently, a trailer of the documentary was released and it gave a hint that the web series will touch previously unseen aspects of the life of the Indian cricketer. The official synopsis of the documentary reads, “Called MSD, Mahi, Captain Cool, Thala and more by the billions of fans that cheer him on and off the field, MSD’s story is known to all. Or so you think! He has another story to tell, one that not even his closest friends know. What is it all about? His toughest moment as a sportsman, cricketer, captain, husband, father or more?”
