Batting megastar Virat Kohli‘s social media posts gain a lot of traction as he is also one of the biggest social media influencers. Once Kohli posts anything personal or professional on his social media handles, it goes viral within moments.
Lately, Kohli posted three images from India’s four-day practice match against Leicestershire after the warm-fixture went on smoothly. Two of them happened to be stills from the game while the other one was clicked while the batting icon was on his way for a training session.
A privilege to have been able to capture these shots: Photographer John Mallett
On Monday, June 27, John Mallett, who had clicked all those three photographs of Kohli, expressed his gratitude to him by taking to his official Twitter handle. The Norwich-based photographer called Kohli as “one of the world’s greatest players” and also a “privilege” of having clicked these photographs.
“Hugely humbled that one of the worlds greatest players chose to use some of my images from the game with @leicsccc on his personal media accounts. A privilege to have been able to capture these shots. Thanks to VK & every one @BCCI for your support,” Mallet tweeted.

Coming back to the warm-up fixture between India and Leicestershire, the 33-year-old registered scores of 33 and 67. During his splendid half-century in the second innings, Kohli upper-cut a vicious short ball from pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah for a six that was bowled at a chest height.
Meanwhile, India have a lot of work to do just days ahead of the rescheduled fifth Test match at Edgbaston, starting Friday, July 1. Skipper Rohit Sharma might end up missing the contest after being tested positive for COVID-19 and therefore, it remains to be seen who will be leading the visitors. Vice-captain KL Rahul is also unavailable after being ruled out due to a groin injury that could keep him out of action for a while.
