'Husband and wife both finished 2018 with zero': Fans brutally troll Virat Kohli for his duck at the MCG

Virat Kohli had a rare failure with the bat in the second innings of the ongoing third Test against Australia. The World number one Test batsman had come to the crease at the fall of Cheteshwar Pujara‘s dismissal with the scoreboard reading 28/2. However, Kohli too failed to bail India out of trouble and departed for a duck.

Prior to his latest knock, the Indian captain had scored an impressive 82 in the first innings to help India post 443 for 7. Fortunately, Kohli’s duck was not too costly for India as they were already in the driver’s seat. After piling up such a big total, the visitors had bowled out the hosts for just 151 to take a 292-run lead.

The duck, meanwhile, ended yet another very successful year for Kohli with the bat. He is set to finish the year as the highest run-scorer in both Tests as well as ODIs. Kohli, who was the highest run-getter in the away series against South Africa and England, will finish 2018 with 1,322 runs in the whites. The runs came at an average of over 133 and included 5 centuries and 5 fifties. In ODIs this year, he amassed 1,202 runs with the help of 6 centuries and 3 fifties.

The rare failure with the bat, meanwhile, was more than enough for the fans to troll the India star. They hilariously found the funny side of Kohli’s duck and took to Twitter to post some absolute hysterical jokes. The fans compared Kohli’s duck with his wife Anushka Sharma’s recently released movie ‘Zero’ and said that Kohli did not open his account just because he was being a dutiful husband.

The movie, also starring Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif in the lead roles, was a big flop and failed to impress the audience. And the fans thought that Kohli was out for zero just to promote the film.
