I am pretty sure Ravi Bishnoi must have an English grandad or something so that we can steal him: Graeme Swann

The Indian Premier League 2020 has been seeing some of the finest young talents from across the country. Young sensations have impressed equally in batting and bowling sections, and it feels the future of Indian cricket is in the safest hands.

Big names are often stepping up to shower the young lot with kind and motivating words. In the same light, former England off-spinner Graeme Swann has picked Ravi Bishnoi as his favourite young talent who has impressed him in IPL 2020.

During a discussion with Irfan Pathan, Swann put forth his views on the Indian young gems, which have impressed him in this season of IPL 2020. The former off-spinner also lauded the likes of Devdutt Padikkal and Shivam Mavi and then chose Bishnoi as the most impressive one from this lot. The way he has been bowling in the IPL 2020 games in UAE is simply outstanding, he added.

“There have been so many cricketers. Every year you see three or four guys coming up, and everyone is taking notice of them. Devdutt Padikkal, Shivam Mavi but most impressive for me has been Bishnoi, the way he has bowled, he has been outstanding,” said Swann on the Star Sports show Cricket Connected.

The former all-rounder appreciated how Bishnoi has a lot of varieties in his bowling arsenal, and his googly is simply phenomenal. Irfan Pathan added that he was impressed by how he bounced back after conceding many runs to Aaron Finch in Punjab’s game against the Royal Challengers Bangalore.

“What I like is that in the first game he bowled well. In the second game as soon as he came into bowl Aaron Finch put pressure on him in the Powerplay, took 15 runs out of him, but he made a comeback, that was outstanding,” added Pathan.

The former English cricketer also said in a light-hearted tone that he would be very happy if Bishnoi could play for their team.

“I have been very very impressed, and I am pretty sure that he must have an English grandad or something so that we can steal him. Because we are desperate for a leg-spinner, and you guys have so many leg-spinners over here who all play in the IPL,” said Swann.
