Momentum has been riding on a rollercoaster in the ongoing second Test match between India and England at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Stadium. While the visitors would have been pleased after posting 364 in the first innings, the Three Lions gained a 27-run lead after mustering 391 runs. Notably, the Virat Kohli-led side was offered a helping hand from an England spectator on Day 2 of the contest.
The fan somehow breached the security and invaded the field. He was sporting Team India’s Test jersey with “Jarvo” written on his back. Interestingly, when the security officials tried to take the fan off the field, he tried convincing them he was there to play. The whole episode halted the game for a while and Jarvo hogged a lot of limelight.
Jarvo is proud of his controversial act at Lord’s
The invader is indeed proud of his actions and that is evident in his Twitter post. Sharing a picture with India’s customized jersey, the fan, although jokingly, claimed to be the first white man to represent India in international cricket. “Yes, I am Jarvo that went on the pitch. I am proud to be the first white person to play for India,” he wrote on the micro-blogging website.

Meanwhile, the ongoing Lord’s Test is perfectly hanging in balance at the end of Day 4. At stumps on the penultimate day, India were 181/6, leading by 154 runs. Rishabh Pant and Ishant Sharma will resume the proceedings for India on the final day and the duo has a job in hand. The major focus will definitely be on Pant and his performance might decide the fate of the encounter.
Considering the current scoreline, one can say that England have a slight edge. However, it must be noted that the Three Lions will be batting last on this track. With the Lord’s track constantly deteriorating, chasing any target won’t be easy for Joe Root’s men. Hence, an exciting day of Test cricket awaits fans and it would be interesting to see how it pans out.
Notably, the first Test of the five-match series resulted in a draw at Trent Bridge. Hence, the winner of this contest will put the first points on the board.
