Pakistan is all set for its tour of Bangladesh that starts on Friday, November 19. Ahead of the start of the series, the Men in Green carried their country’s national flag for a training session. This did not go well with a lot of Bangladesh fans. State Minister of Information of Bangladesh Murad Hasan has also expressed his disappointment on this matter.
During the T20 world Cup 2021, Pakistan coach Saqlain Mushtaq had started this practice in order to keep the players motivated. He took the decision with a view of reminding the cricketers of the pride and honor of representing their country. But when the team carried the flag to their practice session at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Monday, November 15, it fetched a lot of attention from the netizens.

State Minister Murad Hasan was also not happy with this move of the team. He said that they cannot accept the team hoisting the Pakistan flag during practice sessions.
“I have nothing to say about the players on the Pakistan team. But we can’t accept them hoisting the Pakistan flag during practice sessions. Especially at a time when we’re celebrating the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, when we’re celebrating the golden jubilee of our independence. I believe they should be sent back along with their flag.
Our hearts wrench when we see the Pakistani flag. Why do they need the flag for a practice session? Is it drama or farce? This should not be allowed. We fought them and earned our independence through the blood of 3 million martyrs,” Murad Hasan told reporters on November 16 as quoted by bdnews24.com.
As soon as the pictures of this went all viral across the social media platforms, the fans expressed their unhappiness over it. “Go back Pakistan. Bangladesh should stop the series. Ban any kind of Pakistani flag in Bangladesh,” one user wrote.
“Different countries have come to #Bangladesh innumerable times, many matches have been played by practicing. But neither party needed to practice burying their national flag on the ground. But why did #Pakistan do that…What does it indicate,” another user wrote.
