'I believe we rise by lifting others' - Rashid Khan to raise money to help the victims of Parwan floods

Afghanistan’s leg spinner Rashid Khan is indulging in a good cause as he along with his foundation, is helping the people affected due to the seasonal rains that caused the worst flooding in Parwan Province of Afghanistan. About 100 people were lost their lives while hundreds of citizens lost their homes.

Also, there has been extensive damage to crucial infrastructure leaving many smaller villages in the mountains with unstable power and telecommunication services. Thus, coming forward to help the citizens of his country in these difficult times, Rashid Khan Foundation is helping the victims by providing shelter, food, basic medical assistance and transportation.

Taking it to his official Twitter handle, the leg-spinner urged people to come together to help the needy and poor by donating money. Till now the organisation has collected GBP 4,392 that is nearly 4,24,434 INR. Rashid shared the pictures of his foundation providing basic things to the people living in the areas affected by the flood.

The 21-year-old tweeted, “I believe that we rise by lifting others & by helping one another in times of disaster. My heart is with all those little children & families effected & as promised, @RashidKhanFund will continue to support them. Let’s be part of this great cause. https://Tiny.cc/RashidFund”

Rashid Khan to play for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2020

Afghanistan’s vice-captain was last seen playing in the 2020 edition of the Caribbean Premier League. Rashid Khan was a part of Barbados Tridents who couldn’t qualify for the playoffs as they finished second-last on the points table with only three wins in 10 games.

Now, the spinner will fly to UAE to be a part of Sunrisers Hyderabad camp for the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League which is slated to begin from September 19, with the final to take place on November 10. The Afghanistan Stalwart had made his IPL debut in 2017 and has till now featured in 46 matches for the Sunrisers taking 55 wickets while maintaining an economy of 6.55.

Hyderabad will open their IPL campaign against Royal Challengers Bangalore in Dubai on 21st September. Also, they will be up against defending champions Mumbai Indians in their last league fixture on 3rd November in Sharjah.
