I can be best finisher not just for Rajasthan Royals but for India in future: Riyan Parag
Parag is yet to make his India debut.
Rajasthan Royals all-rounder Riyan Parag feels he is capable of becoming a finisher for not just the franchise, but also for Team India. He was a part of the winning India U19 team in 2018, and the 20-year-old feels that he can achieve much more as he moves further in his career.
Parag made his IPL debut in the year 2019 when he was roped in by the Rajasthan Royals and has been representing the franchise since. He was released ahead of the mega auction but was brought back at INR 3.80 CR for the IPL 2022. The young gun feels that he can work hard to become India’s best finisher in the upcoming seasons.
In his interaction with CricTracker, he said: “I don’t want to praise myself too much, but I think I can be the best finisher not just for Rajasthan Royals but for India in years to come. I have got the skill-set, I’ve got all-rounder abilities and not just batting, fielding and bowling as well.”
“Yes, I’ve got a lot to work on and I’ve got to be consistent. I’ve got to work a lot on a lot of areas but I firmly believe that I can do it for the Rajasthan Royals team and the country as well,” he added as he stated his goals in the game.
Riyan Parag is representing his team for the fourth season
Parag has 364 runs in 34 IPL matches so far, at a strike rate of 120.13 and an average of 15.83. He’s also recognized for his spin bowling, despite the fact that he only has three IPL wickets to show for it. Parag also has leadership experience, having captained his native team, Assam, in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy for a few seasons.
Rajasthan Royals have started off very well in the tournament, winning three out of the four games played. They are the table toppers with six points to their name in four games and are facing Gujarat Titans in their ongoing encounter at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.
