West Indies will have their task cut out when they take on Virat Kohli-led India in the upcoming T20I and ODI series. The Men in Blue will host the reigning T20 world champions for three T20Is and three ODIs. India will be the favourites once again with Virat Kohli looking set to be West Indies’ biggest hurdle in the series.

West Indies’ performance against Kohli could pretty much decide their fate in the upcoming series just like it did a few months ago when both the teams played three ODIs and as many T20Is right after the World Cup. Kohli had starred with the bat in both the formats. In the T20Is, he scored 106 runs including a brilliant 59 off 45 balls in the third and final T20I as India won the series 3-0.

In the subsequent ODI series, he scored two centuries in two games after the first game was washed out. Kohli bagged the Man of the Match award in both the games as India emerged victorious on both the occasions. No surprises then that the world number one ODI batsman will be the biggest threat for West Indies in the upcoming series.

Plans in place for Virat Kohli:

Well, West Indies do have some plans in place to dismiss the India captain. But then again, with teams not getting much success against Kohli, West Indies have not devised conventional plans for the right-handed batsman. West Indies head coach Phil Simmons admitted that stopping Kohli would be a huge task before revealing some absolutely hilarious ways to get rid of the batsman.

From making Kohli bat with just one stump, giving him a hundred to using two bowlers to bowl at Kohli at once, Simmons did have some hilarious replies when asked about his team’s plans for Kohli.

“One, I can make him (Kohli) bat with a stump. Two, we can sign a book and in the ODIs, we can give him a 100 and bowl at the rest of the players or we can make sure that our plans to him are spot on,” said Simmons in the press-conference.

“We can make sure that the bowlers don’t get too scared of him. But in the end, maybe two can bowl at him at the same time. You never know what can happen but it’s a difficult proposition to get Virat Kohli out,” he added.
