India skipper Virat Kohli has time and again opened up about how his life changed after meeting Anushka Sharma. The couple dated each other for a long time before deciding to get married in December 2017 in Italy. They have been very clear and open about their relationship and have preferred to stay away from the limelight while spending some quality time with each other.
More so, Kohli has praised Anushka a lot even before for changing him a lot ever since they met. While speaking to Dinesh Karthik during his stay in England, the 32-year-old has once again credited his wife for bringing positive changes in life and his attitude over the years. Kohli even went on say that he is lucky to have Anushka with him.
“If I hadn’t met her (Anushka), I don’t know where I would have been. She has made me believe where I am and what impact I can have through what I do. She has alleviated me as a person, and that has eventually filtered through in cricket. I couldn’t be more grateful and lucky to have a life partner like her. She is absolutely my better half,” Kohli said in an interview to Karthik on Sky Sports.
How has life changed for the power couple since Vamika’s arrival?
Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma welcomed their daughter, whom they named Vamika, earlier this year. The Indian skipper spoke about how their lives have changed since her arrival. “Firstly now, with our daughter, it’s putting her to sleep, first thing. Then, stepping out for breakfast somewhere, grab a quick coffee in the time that we get. And then, come back to the room to be with our daughter again. Priority is obviously making sure that we stay up to speed with her schedule,” he added.
The Kohli family is currently in England as India is in the middle of a five-match Test series against the home side. The couple has a huge fan following across the world but much more in India and it is actually tough for them to walk freely on streets. Virat Kohli touched upon that aspect stating that it is very relaxing for them in England as they at least get to stroll outside which they can’t even dream of in India.
“Just taking a stroll down the street is probably the most relaxing thing for both of us (in England). Such is the reality of our lives back home. Can’t complain about anything in life, but we have to adjust. Thinking of going down the street in India is not even a dream for us now, it doesn’t even arrive in our dreams anymore,” Kohli said.
