'I don't even know if Dhoni would have finished that one off' - Adam Zampa after his swashbuckling knock against Queensland

Adam Zampa, the Australian leg spinner, is not very famous for his batting. But, last week he stunned everyone with his destructive batting during a match in the Australia One-Day Cup. He played a cameo-knock of 35 runs in 15 balls that helped South Australia Redbacks in winning the encounter against Queensland.

The 27-year-old took the batting crease when Redbacks had lost their seven wickets with Jake Lehmann as his partner. The team was in need of 49 runs from 27 balls with only tailenders left to come in order to bat. And, Zampa’s swashbuckling knock took the match away from Joe Burns and Co.

In an interview given on the sidelines of the ground, Zampa was asked by the reporter about his match-winning knock. In a reply to it, Aussie cricketer said that he doubted that if MS Dhoni, who is known as the best finisher, would have finished that game off or not. But, after giving the statement, Aussie leggie realized his mistake of raising a question on the ability of the former Indian skipper and immediately rectified it by saying that it was a joke.

“I don’t even know if Dhoni would have finished that one off to be fair!”, he said and soon added, “I’m Joking! That will hurt a lot of people. I’m definitely joking, sorry. He would have finished that one-off.” Adam Zampa told.

The former Indian skipper is one of the best finishers across the globe. It is widely accepted by the former cricketers that Dhoni is one of the most intelligent brains in the cricketing world when it comes to handling tense situations of the game.

Coming to the match, Queensland posted a competitive total of 295 runs at the loss of nine wickets. In reply to it, South Australia successfully chased the target with two balls and three wickets remaining. Currently, the Aussie spinner Adam Zampa is featuring in the Australian squad playing T20I series against Sri Lanka. And he has grabbed as many as five wickets in the three-match series. The 25-year-old is also the part of the squad that will play the T20I series against Pakistan.
