Ambati Rayudu is someone who has been infamous with his incidents of losing temper on the field. The batsman has had a tough time in the past few years. After having a terrific season with the bat in 2018, he made a comeback to the Indian side.
However, after being sorted as the designated number four for the world cup, the batsman was dropped out ahead of the tournament. Since then, he has retired and then announced his comeback as well. Recently, in a live chat session, his Chennai IPL teammate Dwayne Bravo revealed how telling negative things helps to get the better off Rayudu.
Dwayne Bravo revealed that Rayudu is one of his favourite players. He also recalled that he had played with the Indian batsman in Mumbai Indians. Rayudu and Bravo were together in the Mumbai Indians team in 2010. It was the first season for the Hyderabad batsman. Later on, ahead of the IPL 2011, Bravo moved to Chennai Super Kings. Rayudu played with Mumbai until 2017.
He will always go out there to prove me wrong: Dwayne Bravo
“Ambati Rayudu is one of my favourite players. I played with him at Mumbai Indians. We didn’t play much together there. I know he is a player that, to me, is very very unfair to his talent. He is one of India’s batsmen,” Dwayne Bravo said during a chat session with Chennai Super Kings on Instagram.
Bravo also revealed that Rayudu is a very hot-headed guy. He said that he would often insult Rayudu jokingly. He revealed he would ask the batsman why did CSK even buy him. Bravo said that Rayudu would take these comments at heart and try to prove him wrong.
“He is also a very hot-tempered guy. I like to say ‘you’re not good, you’re rubbish. I don’t know why CSK bought you’. These things get to his head. He is also very determined to prove me wrong all the time. He would. If you look at his first season with CSK, we sit next to each other. Every time I sit next to him, I say negative things. He will always go out there to prove me wrong”, the West Indian all-rounder said.
Bravo went on to say that he feels happy with the success of Rayudu and he believes that he is a special person. He says if someone doesn’t know him can get the wrong ideas but Rayudu is actually very passionate about his game.
“I always feel happy for his success. He is a special person. You have to really know him to love him. If you don’t know him, then you may get the wrong ideas. He is a true team man. Very passionate about his cricket,” the 36-year-old said.
