Rajasthan Royals have been on a roll this season as they have got two wins in two matches, impressing everyone with their performance. They had a good time at the mega auction as the selectors built a very strong team, in terms of their batters and bowlers. They roped in some big names in their team, and also strengthened their coaching unit.
Almost all the players of the team have contributed really well, and the bowlers especially have done a commendable job. RR have batted first in both their matches, and defended their score successfully, dispelling the myth of ‘bowl first, win the game’. Players like Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson with the bat, and Yuzvendra Chahal, Trent Boult, and Ravichandran Ashwin with the ball have made it possible for RR to start their campaign on a winning note.
Rajasthan Royals: have a well-rounded attack and have a lot of wicket-taking options: Jaffer
Speaking of the same attributes of the team, former India cricketer Wasim Jaffer shared his thoughts on RR’s team formation. “If you talk about Rajasthan, they’ve played really well. This is the first team in this tournament that lost the toss in both the games and went on to win the match, which has not been the pattern. That says a lot about the team,” said Jaffer on Sky247.net presents ‘Not Just Cricket Show’ on CricTracker.
“Be it the batting bit, or the bowling part, they’ve specialist players who have done their job really, really well. I feel they have the best bowling attack in the tournament this year. They have a well-rounded attack and have a lot of wicket-taking options. Their batting is a bit of a concern because if Buttler and Sanju Samson do not fire up, the other players won’t be able to do much as these two play a major role,” he added.
Jaffer also said that the two batters will have a lot of responsibility in the game because Yashasvi Jaiswal and Riyan Parag are out of form and haven’t performed well so far, and Devdutt Padikkal is playing out of his position.
