Sunil Gavaskar opens up on his time in lockdown

There is no doubt over the fact that many people would have got ample amount of time to spend good time with their families after a long time like former and current cricketers, who always remain busy in their cricketing tours. The same is the case with Sunil Gavaskar, who was spotted sporting a white beard in a recent interaction with India Today.

The 70-year-old said that he wakes up late in the morning and then he catches up with breeding of his animals. Afterwards, he goes for a walk on his terrace in the evening. Gavaskar also added that he has lost a lot of weight which is now equivalent to what he weighed in his debut series.

“Basically I have been taking it a bit easy, waking up late, catching up on a bit of breeding. Then in the evenings I go for a walk on my terrace and I could tell you that you will be surprised to know that I have almost come down to my debut series weight – just 0.03 kgs more than what my weight was when I made my debut.

Also, the fact that because of the restrictions, your diets are also restricted. Also, watch some TV serials or something like that in the evening. Overall, just pretty happy to be staying at home actually,” he said. Sunil Gavaskar also wished that it would have been great if his whole family was with him in lockdown. However, he is still able to talk and interact with everyone due to the advancement in technology.

“In the ultra-slow lane (living life in). I would be very happy if my entire family was here with me but that’s not the case. But thankfully with all these new contraptions you can actually see each other and talk to each other so that’s a big plus as well,” he added.
