After a daunting defeat when the chips are down and most experts are criticizing them the Indian team has found a shoulder of support from the legend Sachin Tendulkar. Team India was the overwhelming favourite coming into the series but on a turning track at the MCA Stadium in Pune almost surrendered to the left-arm spin of Steve O’Keefe.
Sachin who was in the national capital to flag off the New Delhi Marathon on Sunday, said that with three matches to play the series is still wide open. “Coming to India-Australia Test series, it was a tough match for us. But it is a part and parcel of the game. The loss (in the first Test) does not mean that the series is lost, the series is still wide open,” he told the media after flagging off the marathon race.
Virat Kohli & Co. might have lost the first Test but the master blaster certainly expects them to make a strong comeback and he also feels that the Aussies are aware of it. “Knowing the spirit of the Indian team I know that they will fight back hard. Australian team also knows about it because when we beat them, we also knew that they are going to come back at us really hard. I have no doubt that the Indian team is going to come back and compete hard,” Sachin added.
Every sportsperson and team has the downs, they are winning and everything looks good but once they face a daunting defeat it is important to gather themselves back, get up on the feet and prepare for the next challenge.

“There are good moments and there are tough moments but it is all about how you stand back on your feet again and start competing. That is what makes the sport interesting. That is what sportspersons play for,” Tendulkar concluded saying.
