The Kapil Sharma Show is one of the most-watched comedy shows on Indian television and its popularity is not confined. The show has managed to create a lot of buzz all across the globe including Pakistan. Along with its comedy aspect, the show never fails to amuse the fans with its star-studded guest list. Many Indian actors, as well as cricketers, have appeared on the show as special guests.
One particular episode in the past which garnered much attention, especially in Pakistan, was Wasim Akram’s appearance on the show. Pakistan’s fast bowling legend Akram had made many revelations on the show including the hilarious incident of Navjot Singh Sidhu’s golden duck against Waqar Younis in 1990. Since the revelation, Kapil Sharma has not missed a chance to take a jibe at Sidhu while mentioning the ‘golden duck’ incident.
Meanwhile, Waqar Younis, the reason behind Sidhu’s golden duck, revealed that he has been loving the banter between Kapil and Sidhu. In a chat with GloFans twitter platform during ‘Q20’, Waqar said that he always enjoyed watching ‘Sidhu paaji’ getting teased by Kapil on the show.
Younis, who was an indispensable part of the Pakistan side in that era, also revealed that Sidhu has been a great friend and a good mentor. Younis termed Sidhu as a ‘lovely’ human being and said that he has done a lot of cricket shows with the former India international.

“I have seen that Kapil Sharma Show, few times and I know my name has been mentioned several times regarding Sidhu paaji when I got him out in 1990. And, I got him on a very very first ball. I know he has been teased a lot because of that.
And, it was a wonderful game of cricket. We always used to enjoy playing against India in those days because we used to win against India a lot those days. Not nowadays, though,” Waqar responded to a fan’s question on GloFans.
“But yes, Sidhu paaji has always been a great friend and a good mentor also. He is a lovely human being and I’ve done a lot of shows with him and Cricket shows also. I know he does a lot of this Kapil Sharma Show which I’ve really enjoyed watching. Yeah… It’s good that he gets teased there which I really love! Good,” he further added.
In another question by a fan, Younis revealed Bollywood actress Kajol as his favourite actress and legendary Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan as the best actor. While donning the Pakistan jersey in 87 Tests and 262 ODIs, Younis scalped 373 and 416 wickets respectively before retiring from international cricket in 2003.
