Naseem Shah marked his arrival on the international stage with a bang. He was all over the news for possessing exemplary talent and sheer pace at such a young age. The speedster was all over the news after being selected for the Australia series.
Following the Australia tour, Naseem continued to prove his mettle as he picked up a five-wicket haul in the Karachi Test against Sri Lanka to steer his side to the triumph. The youngster also started his 2020 with a bang as he became the youngest player to pick an international hat-trick after scalping three wickets on three deliveries against Bangladesh.
India versus Pakistan is always special: Naseem Shah
Naseem, in a recent interview, was asked the prospect of locking horns with India in the near future. According to the speedster, India-Pakistan games are always special as a player can emerge as a hero or a villain in those fixtures.
“Yes definitely. India versus Pakistan is always special and I have already been told that players can become heroes and villains in those matches. They are special matches as they happen so rarely and yes, I am looking forward to playing against India whenever that opportunity arises. I hope that I can bowl well against India when that chance comes by and won’t let our fans down,” Naseem Shah told PakPassion.
Naseem Shah also opened up on bowling against one of the most prolific batsmen of the current era, Virat Kohli. The current Indian skipper is regarded as one of the best and Naseem said that it’s always a challenge to bowl against the best. The youngster said that he respects the current Indian skipper but he doesn’t fear him and he is ready to face Kohli whenever the opportunity arises.
“As for Virat Kohli, I respect him but don’t fear him. It’s always a challenge to bowl to the best, but that’s where you have to raise your game. I look forward to playing against Virat Kohli and India whenever that chance comes,” he added.
