Former Chennai Super Kings player Shane Watson has revealed the one and only incident he remembers when he saw MS Dhoni get agitated. Watson said that he never saw Dhoni lose his calm, except for that particular occasion.

Watson said that Dhoni is the calmest person in the camp, and he tries his best to keep all the negative energy out of the dressing room so that the situation is not tense and the players hold their nerves. He recalled the IPL 2019 final between CSK and Mumbai Indians and spoke of the time when MS Dhoni lost a tiny bit of his cool.

“When you talk about whether he gets flustered or anything, the only time I have seen him a tiny bit frustrated was when we lost against MI in the IPL final in 2019. I saw him halfway kick his bag a little bit, just a tiny bit. You could see how much it meant to him,” the former Australia player was quoted by India Today.

“No matter what the situation is, he is calm. It resonates throughout the whole group. One of the most important things in a cricket environment is to take all the worry and stress out of the environment and that’s what he does because of who the person he is,” Watson added.

Dhoni kept his calm during CSK’s recent nail-biting encounter against MI

Dhoni is known for his calm and composed nature on and off the field. It is very rare that he is seen frustrated, and he does not even celebrate the good things much, because that is how he has been all these years. He always keeps a straight face in all kinds of situations – be it a tense match scene, a bad loss, or an epic victory.

Something similar was seen on Thursday, in the 33rd match of IPL 2022, when CSK bagged a thrilling victory against Mumbai, and Dhoni finished the game off in style with his last-over heroics. He hit three boundaries in the last over, including a four on the last ball that gave the team a much-needed victory. While the whole fraternity was lauding him for his brilliance, he was just into the game and fulfilling his duties.
