I share a great relation with Virender Sehwag and Yuvraj Singh: Gautam Gambhir
Gautam Gambhir celebrates his 36th birthday today.
Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir turned 36 today and he received warm wishes from his friends, colleagues and fans. The left-handed opener was the man of the match for India in both the World Cups (2007 World T20I and 2011 World Cup). Gambhir has played many magical knocks while representing India. He is currently leading Delhi in the Ranji Trophy.
In an interview uploaded in the official Kolkata Knight Riders page on YouTube, the two-times IPL champion said that Yuvraj Singh and Virender Sehwag are two of his very good friends. Gambhir has opened the Indian innings with Sehwag mostly and he has also played a lot of cricket with all-rounder Yuvraj.
I spent a lot of time with Sehwag: Gambhir
Apart from Yuvraj and Sehwag, Gambhir said that pacer Munaf Patel, Ishant Sharma and leggie Amit Mishra are some of his good friends. “I spent a lot of time with Viru (Virender Sehwag). Obviously, Ishant (Sharma) is a very good friend. Munaf (Patel) is a good friend. I grew up with Amit Mishra and we practiced a lot. I also spent a lot of time with Yuvi (Yuvraj Singh) when we played together. I share a great relationship with all these guys and we have seen highs and lows together,” Gambhir said.
The past glories are now memories
Recalling the past memories, Gambhir said that once each of them retires from the game, these memories will stay with them forever. “I think some of our great cricketing moments have been together, especially winning the 2007 WT20 and 2011 World Cup. And also some of the lowest moments like getting whitewashed in England. It has always been great fun because I am sure once all us retire, these memories will stay with us for the rest of our lives,” he added.
