Former Australian cricketer Dean Jones is a constant figure on social media. The former middle-order batsman-turned commentator and coach, Jones can be seen being regularly involved in hilarious banters and posting witty remarks on the regular happenings of the game.

Jones was recently involved in a hilarious banter with India and Royal Challengers Bangalore wicketkeeper-batsman Parthiv Patel on Twitter, where the latter had the last laugh. It all started when Jones cheekily questioned about the Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise as to why they retained the Gujarat all-rounder for the upcoming Indian Premier League.

Patel had then come with a fitting rebuttal where he said, Parthiv Patel then came up with a fitting reply, telling Jones: “So that u can be at peace during ipl in #selectdugout….”. But, the former Australian white-ball stalwart, Jones, has now done it again.

Replying to fan’s question on Twitter where he had asked, “Got a question for you @ProfDeano. Who should open for RCB in 2020? Kohli and Parthiv or Umesh and Kohli???” Jones took a dig at Parthiv’s height and replied, I think @parthiv9  is too small!

Parthiv Patel had a successful 2019 IPL campaign

Parthiv Patel was one of the few shining lights in what was eventually another dismal season for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. The left-hander finished the Indian Premier League campaign as the franchise third-highest run-getter (373 in 14 games). Ultimately, the runs couldn’t help RCB’s fledgeling campaign as the Virat Kohli-led franchise finished with a wooden spoon- winning just five of their fourteen fixtures and ending at the nadir of the points table.

Parthiv has been very active on social media platforms in recent times. Recently, the Royal Challengers Bangalore had posted a question on their social media accounts where they asked the fans as to who- Parthiv Patel or Devdutt Padikkal- would they like to see walking out to bat if the side were to chase down 240 in twenty overs.

The question had come in the backdrop of Mumbai shellacking the hell out of the Punjab bowling attack in a Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy Super-League encounter where they racked up 243 in 20 overs.

As fans were trolling RCB on the question, Parthiv came up with a reply that instantly went viral on social media. The southpaw asked RCB as to why do they want their side to go for 239 runs in 20 overs. And, you can expect the same on Dean Jones cheeky dig in the coming days.
