It has been a strenuous week for the Indian cricket team with the media questioning the dressing room environment. More of the attention is given to the rumored collision of personalities in the side. Skipper Virat Kohli, and his deputy, Rohit Sharma has been receiving a lot of heat and the hype surrounding their issue is increasing exponentially.
Finally, a couple of days ago, Kohli cleared the air in the press conference. He was quite angry with the reports and denied any rift with Sharma. He asked the media to stop circulating such rumors and to respect their personal lives. Even coach, Ravi Shastri supported the skipper and was surprised to see such reactions on false news.
Still, after all the explanations the issues have refused to die down. Both the cricketers are watched closely and the media is digging up the past stories. Suddenly now the story has taken a new turn as Rohit has come up with a message.
Ambiguity continues
Currently, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are two of the most respected members of the Indian team because of their success in the international stage. India has enjoyed the services of both the superstars and particularly Kohli who has been the batting mainstay of the team since the last couple of years.
He has led the nation to elusive victories and his captaincy record has been terrific across formats. However, in recent times audience and cricketing pundits have questioned the credibility of the skipper. After the World Cup semi-final loss the fans were expecting a split captaincy in the team and the reason being Rohit’s dominance in the white-ball cricket.
Amidst all this, a social media fiasco between Rohit and his skipper’s wife had further aggravated the doubts that he is unhappy with the team’s decisions. Now, in his latest Twitter post Hitman has termed that he walks out to bat for his country, not just for his team. Though it looks a simple message it certainly has intensified the mystery surrounding the problems.
