I want to gain some experience of the pink-ball Test before I quit my cricket: Jhulan Goswami

Australia and India Women are up against each other in a multi-format series. The teams are also staged to play a pink-ball Test match and opening up about the same, India’s ace pacer Jhulan Goswami has stated that she is looking forward to playing the historic match.

The two teams were involved in three ODIs to start the tour. Australia dominated the proceedings by winning the first two matches and sealed the deal. However, India bounced back stronger in the final ODI to avoid a clean sweep and also . Yastika Bhatia and Shafali Verma played impressive knocks of 64 and 56 respectively to fashion the team’s victory in the third ODI.

Goswami was awarded the man of the match for her splendid spell wherein she scalped three wickets. India required four runs in the final over and it was the speedster who provided the finishing touch to the game to end Australia’s 26-match winning streak in ODIs. Post the match, she opened up about her bowling and expressed her feelings on playing the first-ever pink-ball Test for India

“I just tried to bowl the ball in the right areas, whatever role has been given to me I try to deliver that. When it is seaming and swinging, you cannot try much and it is just about hitting the right areas. I am really looking forward to the pink-ball Test now, I do not have any experience about it, but I want to gain some experience of the pink-ball Test before I quit my cricket,” Goswami said during the post-match press conference.

Australia dominated the ODI series and exuded some great character in the second ODI to emerge triumphantly. India was almost on the verge of winning as Australia needed three runs of the final ball, but a no-ball drama handed over the victory to the hosts. However, after having won the third ODI, Goswami said that it will help the team to enter the pink ball Test with some confidence.

“See, when you are playing against one of the best sides in the world, you have to give your best every day. Honestly speaking, I was not aware of Australia’s 26-match unbeaten streak, I just wanted to give my performance and giving 100 percent on the field. It was good that we were able to beat them, if we were not able to beat them, it would have been 3-0. Before the pink ball Test, we were able to win one game and we will gain some confidence,” said the fast bowler.
