'I wear three boxes, there's a lot to protect' - Faf du Plessis' hilarious admission ahead of IPL 2022
Faf also shared some pro-tips on getting eight-pack abs, maintaining a good physique, and staying fit.
In a recent video shared by the Royal Challengers Bangalore on their social media handles, newly appointed skipper Faf du Plessis was seen involved in a fun conversation with Mr. Nags, RCB’s anchor and Mascot on the RCB Insider Show.
In the video, Faf was seen talking about his eight-pack abs, his fitness regime, his upcoming stint with the new team, and much more about himself and his team. RCB shared the video on their social media captioning it as: “Captain Faf’s sense of humor comes out as Mr. Nags talks about his 8 pack abs and continues the 7-year tradition by making Faf sing a famous Kannada song. Watch now.”
Mr. Nags, played by Danish Sait, brought out the fun part of the skipper as Faf opened up about some unknown and unheard things about himself and his fellow South African mate AB de Villiers. On being asked about his thoughts on entering late into the team, as three South Africans have already represented RCB, Faf said: “I am used to being the oldest as you can see. In the South African side, I was the last one to stay. I want to be the guy that’s there at the end. The guy that’s oldest, the wisest, most grey hair.”
Faf sings a Kannada song to keep up with RCB’s tradition
When Mr. Nags asked him why he wears so much protective equipment while going out to bat, Faf said: “I wear normal pads. The only thing that’s different with me is I wear three boxers. There’s a lot to protect.” This led to a Laugh-Out-Loud moment at the shoot, and how the conversation ended is surely worth watching.
Faf also shared some pro-tips on getting eight-pack abs, maintaining a good physique, and staying fit. He was made to sing a Kannada Song on the show, to continue RCB’s seven-year-long tradition. He also mentioned that his father, who is a professional Rugby player, wanted him to get into the sport but he did not find himself as the right fit there. Faf was picked up by RCB at a price of INR 7 crore at the mega auction.
RCB will play their first game on March 27, Sunday evening, at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai against Punjab Kings.
