I will hit six sixes again: Yuvraj Singh
Yuvraj Singh of India, who had struck Stuart Broad for six sixes in an over in the inaugural WorldT20 Cup 2007, said that he will hit six sixes again to a Cancer Survivor Kid.
Yuvraj Singh had a great interaction session with 17 young kids, out of which most of them aged 7 or 8, who fought their own battles against the dreaded disease.
When a young kid asked Yuvraj if he will hit six sixes again, Yuvraj replied – “You pray, I will hit six sixes again.” The six sixes where an iconic part of Indian cricket.
However, the dashing left-handed batsman is in good touch and he has finished off matches for Sunrisers Hyderabad this season. Yuvraj had struck 42 runs off 24 balls to take his side to a 7 wicket win against Kings XI Punjab on Sunday.
One of the cancer survivors, studying in class 4 now, aged 8, had been diagnosed with cancer when he was just 18 months old. The boy told PTI that players like Yuvraj are a great inspiration for him. “I love cricket and seeing Yuvi and Suresh Raina in action gives me immense joy,” he said.
Yuvraj also shared a few of his aspects about dealing with the dreaded diseases like cancer teaches not to take life as granted , not to take your family or friends for granted. “Think of it as a blessing in disguise that you have an opportunity to live again,” he told them.
