ICC Champions Trophy 2017 - List of Match Officials for the Group Stages

The tournament will kick off on June 1 with hosts England taking on Bangladesh.

The 2017 edition of the ICC Champions Trophy is all set to get underway. The tournament will be contested by 8 teams for the all important glory. 15 matches will be played in the tournament spread across the three shortlisted venues in England – Birmingham, London, and Cardiff. Recently, the International cricket council announced the list of match officials for the mega event commencing on June 1.

Three officials have been named as the match referees for the matches to be played in the group staged. Also, 12 umpires have been shortlisted for the ICC Champions Trophy. The ICC released a media statement wherein they announced the names of all the officials who would officiate in the tournament. All officials are from the ICC’s Elite Panel of officials.

“Chris Broad, David Boon and Andy Pycroft of the Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees will officiate in the tournament while the umpiring responsibilities will be shared between all the 12 Elite Panel of ICC Umpires, namely: Aleem Dar, Kumar Dharmasena, Marais Erasmus, Chris Gaffaney, Ian Gould, Richard Illingworth, Richard Kettleborough, Nigel Llong, Bruce Oxenford, Sundaram Ravi, Paul Reiffel and Rod Tucker,” the ICC release read.

The tournament will kick off on June 1 with hosts England taking on Bangladesh. The match officials for the semi-finals and the final will be announced later. All day matches would start at 3pm (IST) and the day night fixtures will start at 6pm (IST).
