ICC comes up with a hilarious tweet after watching Rohit Sharma carnage
The ICC looked totally impressed with the way the Indian opener had led an assassin against the opposition bowlers.
Indian skipper Rohit Sharma broke many records in the Indore T20I against Sri Lanka. His superlative ton in the match fetched him praises from all corners of the cricket fraternity. Among all the good wishes that came his way, the one that stood out among the rest was by the big international body – the International Cricket Council (ICC).
It is not an everyday story that one gets to see the ICC posting tweets on the individual knocks played the players. Well, they do tweet on historic wins and the big announcements. But a tweet on a player only shows how brutal the innings must have been. The tweet that they posted is indeed hilarious. They posted a GIF file that sees a man taking of his glasses and looking seriously at something.
They added a caption that mentioned that this is how it looks like when someone tries to look at Rohit Sharma’s scorecard. The ICC looked totally impressed with the way the Indian opener had led an assassin against the opposition bowlers.
Here is what the ICC tweeted after Rohit Sharma’s knock:
The record shattering knock
Commenting on the knock, this was Rohit Sharma’s second international ton in the shortest format of the game. He had hit his maiden T20I ton against South Africa in 2015 at Dharamsala. This ton, however, remains to be of superlative nature. The century goes down as the fastest ton in the shortest format of the game.
Rohit took only 35 balls to reach the milestone. He equaled the record set by David Miller, who also has a 35-ball ton to his name in T20Is. In the Indore match, Rohit added 165 runs for the first wicket with KL Rahul. While he managed to reach the ton, KL missed out on the opportunity as he was dismissed on 89.
