The Indian Premier League (IPL) is known to bring the best out of the players as they give their 100 percent in order to come out on top. In a similar instance, AB de Villiers of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) pulled off a stunning catch during the game against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) which left literally everyone in awe of him. However, even the International Cricket Council (ICC) has praised him with a brilliant caption.
It was the eighth over of the innings when RCB were defending the total of 219 runs and the visitors were off to a great start. Alex Hales smashed the short ball from Moeen Ali in the air as it was travelling fast towards the deep mid-wicket boundary. But De Villiers timed his jump to the perfection like a Superman and caught the ball while in the air even as he pulled himself inside the boundary line.
It was one of the best catches, rather the best catch of the season after which the cricket fans were left gushing over it for the next couple of days. Even his skipper Virat Kohli went gaga over his effort calling him the Spiderman.
ICC’s interesting tweet
The official Twitter handle of the ICC has often seen tweeting about the key moments of the ongoing cash-rich league. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle exchanged marriage vows on Saturday as the world was waiting for the Royal Wedding to take place and was also trending on social media for the whole day. ICC prepared the collage of the picture of De Villiers’ catch and the newlywed couple and posted it on Twitter which was hilarious.
They also captioned it as, “#RoyalWedding,” which in a way was an honour for one of the best cricketers of this generation. Even the fans loved it as they hailed the world cricketing body terming this as their best tweet in the recent times.
