The ICC released the fixtures for the T20 World Cup 2020 that will be played in Australia. The tournament is slated to be played from 18 October to November 15. According to the fixtures, the Indian skipper might have got an early birthday gift from the apex cricket council.
India is placed in Pool B alongside England, South Africa, Afghanistan and two other qualifier teams. According to the schedule that is released, the 30-year-old will be in action on his 32nd birthday. Moreover, Virat Kohli will be playing at his adopted home ground in Australia, the Adelaide Oval. Team India will take on one of the qualifier teams on this day. Given his love for the venue, Kohli could light up the Oval will some fireworks on his birthday.

Virat has found a great deal of success playing at the Adelaide Oval. In his career thus far, he was a part of three tours to Australia. In these tours, he scored 765 runs in only 11 innings at an average of 69.54 across formats when he played in Adelaide. His Test scores at the venue read – 116, 22, 115, 141, 3 and 34 – averaging 71.33. In ODIs, he scored 18, 15, 107, 104. In the only T20I that he played at the Adelaide Oval, he scored an unbeaten 90.
Furthermore, Virat Kohli has got five international centuries at this venue. This is the most for him at a single venue that he played. Kohli is yet to notch up a T20I century in his career. In case he doesn’t do it till then, his 32nd birthday could be the perfect occasion for him to reach the landmark.

The Indian skipper has currently opted for rest. Thus, he won’t be a part of the last two ODIs against New Zealand. He is also set to miss the T20I series and could be back in action for the home series against Australia.
