The coach of the Indian under 19 team Rahul Dravid has banned the use of mobile phones for the players till the final of the tournament. The U19 side led by Prithvi Shaw has played wonderfully throughout the tournament, the team has been unbeaten so far in the tournament. This team is believed to be a star-studded lineup for the future. Apart from the Captain, cricketers like Shubman Gill, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Anukul Roy, Ishan Porel, Shivam Mavi have grabbed a few eyeballs.

The youngsters were the brightest picks of the Indian Premier League auction this year. India defeated the Australian U19 side in their opening game of the world cup. Gill has been their star performer amassing 341 runs in 5 innings at an average of 170.5. Coach Rahul Dravid was known for his calmness, grit, and determination as a player and he is ensuring that the youngsters also follow his path to success. Before the semi-final of the tournament, Rahul Dravid told the players to stop using their mobile phones as calls from their families can distract them before the all-important games.

This is not the first time that Dravid has said something like this, before the IPL auction, Dravid told the team to relax as the IPL auctions come every year but the U19 world cup comes once in two years. This is not the first instance that a coach has stopped the use of mobile phones, India’s premier shuttler PV Sindhu also talked about her phone being taken away before the Olympics. This is a perfect way to keep the players focused on their goal. India will be the favorites in the final against Australia.

Talking to Shivam Mavi’s father

India’s recent pace bowling sensation Shivam Mavi informed his father about the mobile ban rule after his father wanted to know his reaction after defeating arch-rivals Pakistan in the semi-finals of the tournament. Shivam Mavi’s father Pankaj Mavi told Sportswallah about the rule. “We haven’t got to talk to him. The last we spoke to him was on Sunday when we had a brief call in which he told that he won’t be able to talk till semi-final and final as the coach Rahul Dravid has instructed every player to switch off the phone as the family and media calls might distract them from the focus,”

Rahul Dravid’s technique to keep the players focused may be a little harsh on them but Dravid will ensure that every player gives his 100% in the final against Australia on 3rd February. The boys will be eager to take the field against the Kangaroos, India will enter the finals as they favorites since they defeated Australia in their opening game of the tournament. The nation will be awake to witness boys turn into men as India goes head-to-head with Jason Sangha’s Australia tomorrow.
