Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor goofed up while wishing the Indian team after their U19 World Cup triumph
India U19 beat England U19 by four wickets in the final of the ICC U19 World Cup 2022 at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua on Sunday to lift the title for a record fifth time. All-rounder Raj Bawa was adjudged the Player of the Match for his outstanding all-round performances as he starred with both bat and ball. After registering a fifer in the first innings, he scored a match-winning 35 in the second.
The Indian colts won praises from all corners of India and across the globe for their splendid performances in the tournament as they won the coveted trophy without tasting a single defeat. Many celebrities and eminent personalities also congratulated the youngsters and among them was Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor. Even though Shahid did give a special mention to the victorious Indian team, he made a big mistake while wishing the Boys in Blue on social media.

While congratulating the Indian team on a fifth U19 World Cup win, the Bollywood sensation ended up posting an image of the 2018 batch including the likes of skipper Prithvi Shaw, Shubman Gill, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Shivam Mavi, etc. on his Instagram story and while he did delete the story, the netizens had already taken a screenshot of the same and had a hearty laugh at his expense.
Meanwhile, one of them also said that since Shahid Kapoor has portrayed the role of a cricketer in his yet-to-be-released Jersey, he should have had some basic knowledge of the game.
Chasing a target of 190, India lost the in-form opener Angkrish Raghuvanshi on the second ball of their chase before Harnoor Singh and Shaik Rasheed added 49 runs for the second-wicket stand. Rashid, along with skipper Yash Dhull, then tried to reduce the deficit for the Boys in Blue.
However, England were right back in the game after the duo was dismissed in quick succession. When it appeared that the India would run into more trouble, the middle-order duo of Raj Bawa (35) and Nishant Singh (50*) stitched a 67-run stand for the fifth wicket. In the end, wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Bana finished things off in style with two big sixes as India.
