Match Details:

The 2nd play-off semi-final of the 2019 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier between Scotland Women and Namibia Women will be hosted by the Lochlands in Arbroath.

The match starts at 2:00 PM local time (1:00 PM GMT) (6:30 PM IST).

Preview:

The hosts Scotland Women came into the tournament with high expectations which they couldn’t cope up with. The Scottish team began the tournament with a close loss against Papua New Guinea. They bounced back with a big win over USA while PNG suffered a defeat in hands of Bangladesh. On the last day of the league stage, PNG got better of the United States as expected.

This left Scotland to do a tough task of chasing a big target against Bangladesh in which they failed. They will now hope to finish at No.5 and earn some pride as a host nation. They will now face Namibia in the 2nd playoff semi-final. The Namibia Women’s team suffered defeats in all the three matches they played. They came into the tournament on the back of solid record in T20Is which they failed to replicate.

Weather Condition/Report:

Clear and dry weather in Arbroath is set to welcome another match day in this T20 World Cup Qualifier. The venue has been rarely affected by rain. However, showers are expected towards the end of the game. At least 13-15 overs of the chase would have completed by then.

Pitch Condition/Report:

The pitch at the Lochlands help seamers with the new ball. However, as the game progresses, the spinners come into play. Since this will be the 2nd match of the day and played on a used track, there might not be much of swing early on.

Expert Advice:

A lot was expected from Kayleen Green, a rare player who can do multi-tasking – Opening the innings, keeping the wickets and bowling; all in the same game. However, thus far, she has failed to get better in any of them.
