Shakib Al Hasan backed himself to bat at No.3 in the World Cup and has shown the results as he scored back to back centuries and is currently leading the run-getters chart. The all-rounder scored fifty in all the four games and stood as the player of the match in his team’s both victories. Shakib scored an unbeaten 124 in only 99 balls against the Windies to power Bangladesh through a 322-run chase; the 2nd highest in the history of the World Cup. He also picked up a couple of wickets with the ball.

4 – Shakib Al Hasan is only the 4th player to score 50+ in first four innings of a World Cup edition. Navjot Sidhu in 1987, Sachin Tendulkar in 1996 and Graeme Smith in 2007 were the other three players with this achievement.
4 – Shakib became only the 4th Bangladesh player to score back to back centuries in ODI cricket. Shahriar Nafees recorded consecutive ODI tons in 2006, a feat that was matched by Mahmudullah and Tamim Iqbal in 2015.
Mahmudullah also achieved it in the World Cup and is the only other player to even score a CWC hundred for Bangladesh.
5 – This was Shakib’s 5th successive fifty-plus score in ODI cricket; the joint-longest streak of 50+ scores by anyone from Bangladesh. Tamim Iqbal also had five consecutive fifties in 2012 including four in a row during the Asia Cup.
5 – Number of times Shakib Al Hasan has scored a century and bagged two wickets in the same ODI; the joint-most instances by any player in this format. Chris Gayle also scored 100+ runs and picked at least two wickets in an ODI on five occasions.
6 – This was the 6th instance when Shakib scored 50 and more runs in a World Cup game where he picked at least one wicket. He and Tillakaratne Dilshan are the only players with this double on as many as six occasions in the World Cup.
23 – Shakib has scored over 50 runs in an ODI on 53 occasions and in 23 of them, he ended up bagging two or more wickets. He and Jacques Kallis have scored 50+ runs and picked up two or more wickets in an ODI on 23 instances; the most for any player.
124* – Shakib’s unbeaten 124 is the 3rd highest individual score by a Bangladesh player in an ODI chase. Tamim Iqbal scored 154 in the 2009 Bulawayo ODI against Zimbabwe while chasing 313. Soumya Sarkar finished with an unbeaten 127 during a 251-run chase against Pakistan in the 2015 Dhaka ODI.
384 – Shakib Al Hasan has amassed 384 runs across four innings he batted in this tournament; the most by a Bangladesh player in an ODI series/tournament. Mahmudullah’s 365 runs from six innings in the 2015 World Cup are the previous aggregate in an ODI series/tournament for Bangladesh.
6101 – Shakib became only the 2nd player from Bangladesh to score 6000 runs in ODI cricket. Tamim Iqbal leads the list having scored 6743 runs.
