All the ten teams taking part in the ICC World Cup 2019 are in England and have begun their preparations for the big event. While the tournament officially commences on May 30, 2019, the warm-up games begin from the 24th of May. Therefore, the teams are busy acclimatising to the conditions and setting their plans in place. Meanwhile, the captains are busy interacting with the media and answering various questions.

The ten captains were at the official interaction ahead of the tournament to deal with various bouncers thrown at them by the journalists. As a part of this session, they were all asked several interesting questions regarding the preparations and the plans. One was asking them to pick a dream player for their team.

If you could pick one player from another team for your side, who would you pick?

While all the other skippers picked one player for their sides, England skipper Eoin Morgan had an impressive response to this question. Instead of picking a player, he chose a coach instead. He opted for Ricky Ponting as the coach for his team. The former Australian skipper, after having a successful stint with the Delhi Capitals in IPL 2019, is currently working as the consultant for the Australian cricket team.

Virat Kohli, on the other hand, picked his counterpart from South Africa, Faf du Plessis in his side. For the same, Pakistan skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed wanted to pick English wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler. While Mashrafe Mortaza wanted Virat Kohli in his side, Aaron Finch opted for South African pacer Kagiso Rabada for his World Cup 2019 team.

Interestingly, Faf made three choices instead of one. He named Jasprit Bumrah, Pat Cummins and Rashid Khan as his picks. The new Sri Lankan skipper Dimuth Karunaratne wanted to have Ben Stokes on his side while Kane Williamson chose Rashid Khan. Windies skipper Jason Holder, though, didn’t name anyone and noted that he was happy with his team. Afghanistan skipper Gulbadin Naib gave a smart answer to the question and said that it depends on the day and the conditions.
