ICC World Cup 2019: Match 25, New Zealand vs South Africa — Weather forecast | Hourly temperature and chances of rain
Will rain play spoilsport again?
The last time South Africa and New Zealand had met in the World Cup, it had left the two teams with entirely different emotions. While New Zealand were basking in glory after making it to their first final, the Proteas were devastated and crying following yet another heartbreak in the tournament. South Africa were looking set to win the contest before Grant Elliott broke their hearts and created history for Black Caps.
Fast forward to 2019, both the teams will renew their rivalry at Edgbaston in Birmingham. While both the teams are definitely two of the biggest powerhouses of the game, they are going through a contrasting phase at the moment. While New Zealand are well on their way of making it to the semifinal again, South Africa are staring down the barrel. With three wins from the first four games, the Kiwis are well placed at the moment. One of their game was washed out as they remain one of the only two unbeaten teams in the tournament.
South Africa, on the other hand, are battling hard for survival. With just one win from five games, the script has not quite unfolded in an expected manner for the Proteas. Their World Cup fate is hanging by a balance and another defeat to New Zealand will surely end their slim hopes today itself.
South Africa beat Afghanistan in their last outing to register their first win of the tournament. They will be looking to make the most of the momentum. New Zealand, on the other hand, will be confident of beating the Proteas again because of their current form.
How’s the weather expected to be?
As far as the weather is concerned, rain could play spoilsport again. The chances of rain in percentage at the start of the match will be in the 40s. With the passage of time, the chances will fluctuate but by not much and will mainly revolve around 50 percent. Thus it would not be surprising if another game gets washed out. The temperature will be hovering between 15-17 Degrees Celsius.
