Asked to bat first on a belter of a track, India posted 336 for 5 with Rohit Sharma’s ton leading the way. In reply, Pakistan ended up on a modest 212 for 6 in 40 overs. Except for the brief phase when Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman were batting, they never really looked like challenging India.

South Africa, on the other hand, lost to New Zealand in a thrilling encounter. In a rain-curtailed game, South Africa posted a modest total of 241 for 6 in 49 overs. In reply, they had reduced New Zealand to 137 for 5. However, they could not find a way past Kane Williamson who scored a stunning century to take his side home with three balls remaining.
