After five poor outings, they gave much superior India a run for their money on Saturday. Afghanistan competed well with both bat and ball before losing the thriller by just 11 runs. With the ball, they restricted India to 224 for 8. In reply, they finished their innings on 213.

Bangladesh are definitely the favourites at the moment but they should guard against complacency. Afghanistan has enjoyed good success against the Tigers in recent times. In last year’s Asia Cup, Afghanistan had thrashed the Tigers by 136 and are more than capable of winning again.

The crucial clash for Bangladesh could be ruined by rain. According to AccuWeather, the weather could play spoilsport in the game. The chances of rain at the start of the game will be more than 50 per cent. With the passage of time, the chances of rain will only increase. Worryingly, the chances of rainfall will be around 40 per cent throughout the game. The cloud cover will be around 70 per cent while the temperature will hover between 20-23 degree Celsius.
