ICC World Cup 2019: Match 36, Pakistan vs Afghanistan — Weather forecast | Hourly temperature and chances of rain
Pakistan cannot afford a washout.
The 36th match of the World Cup 2019 will see bitter rivals Pakistan and Afghanistan locking horns in a crucial clash for the former at Headingley in Leeds. For the Men in Green, this is a do-or-die clash. A win in this game will keep their semifinal hopes alive while a loss will all but end their chances of progressing ahead. For Afghanistan, there is nothing much to play for except pride. But given the recent tensions between the two nations, Afghanistan players are certain to give it their all against their fancied opponents.
Pakistan have stormed back into the race for the knockouts by beating South Africa and New Zealand in their last two games. The Men in Green now have a good chance of progressing ahead but need to win all of their remaining games for the same. Having defeated New Zealand in their last game, Pakistan will be confident of taking down Afghanistan. Their bowlers did extremely well to restrict New Zealand to 237 for 6.
An unbeaten century from Babar Azam and a fifty from Haris Sohail then helped Pakistan register a comprehensive 6-wicket win. The win also helped them end New Zealand’s unbeaten run in the competition. With momentum on their side, they will be confident of beating Afghanistan who are rooted at the bottom of the points table.
However, taking them lightly could be fatal for Pakistan. The newcomers have already beaten Pakistan in the warmups and are more than capable of doing the same in the upcoming clash.
How’s the weather expected to be?
With so much at stake, the last thing Pakistan and Afghanistan would want is any sort of interruptions. Well, thankfully the weather forecast is very promising. According to AccuWeather, the chances of rainfall are zero percent in the first few hours. During the second innings, there are some chances of drizzle as the report suggest 5 percent of rain. The temperature will be comparatively higher and will hover in the early 20s while the cloud cover will be 45 percent.
