Australia lost their only match of the 2019 World Cup against India at the Kennington Oval in London. However, apart from that, they have been absolutely unstoppable. Aaron Finch & Co thrashed England at Lord’s by 64 runs and became the first team to qualify for the semi-final of the mega event. They will now be looking to win the rest of their two games and take immense confidence to the knock out stage.

Their next match is against New Zealand in the second of tomorrow’s doubleheader at the Lord’s in London. In World Cup cricket, the Aussies have defeated the Kiwis seven times in 10 matches, the last victory coming in the 2015 final at the MCG. The Black Caps, on the other hand, are on 11 points and another triumph will take them to the next round. Their task won’t be easy though while facing the mighty Aussies.

Here is the guide to select the Captain and Vice-Captain for Dream11 Fantasy:

Captain Suggestions:

Kane Williamson

There’s no doubt in the fact the Kane Williamson has been the Kiwis’ best batsman in the World Cup. With 414 runs in six matches at an average of 138, he has ticked most boxes with the bat. Bowlers have found it tough to break his defence. In the last game, it required an absolute peach from Shadab Khan to get rid of the Kiwis’ skipper. He needs to be on top of his game if the openers fail yet another time.

David Warner

David Warner is currently the leading run-scorer of the mega event with 500 runs at an average of 83.23. Like Finch, even the southpaw has scored two centuries and three fifties in the World Cup. He is one of the very reasons why Australia is sitting pretty on top of the points table. With his team already in the semis, Warner won’t want complacency to sneak in and disturb his momentum.

Ross Taylor

Ross Taylor has 206 runs in six matches at an average of 40.60. His match-winning knock of 82 versus Bangladesh remains to be his best knock in the tournament. However, in the three games, the veteran got out on single-digit scores two times. That’s probably the best time to dismiss Taylor as once he get the measure of the conditions and the bowling, he can make teams pay a heavy price.

Vice-Captain Options:

Aaron Finch

Aaron Finch is already among the leading run-scorers of the World Cup. The Aussie skipper has racked up 496 runs at an average of 70.85. With three fifties and a couple of centuries, Finch hasn’t done much wrong in the mega event. After his career best 153 versus the Lankans, Finch went on to score his second ton of the tournament versus England. Once on song, he can be a tough prospect to deal with.

James Neesham

James Neesham hasn’t had the worst of World Cup campaigns by any means. He has been chipping in with some useful scores lower down the order. Last time around, he gave a good account of himself. He churned out an unbeaten 97, when Pakistan picked up five of their top order wickets. Neesham hasn’t flattered to deceive with the ball either, picking up seven wickets, also getting the match-winning scalp of Carlos Brathwaite.

Steve Smith

Steve Smith has well and truly shouldered the responsibility of the middle-order. While the focus has mostly been on Warner and Finch for their opening stands, Steve has scored 282 runs in seven matches at an average of 73. He has been a floater in the batting lineup, but has adjusted pretty efficiently. With scores of 73, 69, 73 and 38, Smith has been an indispensable member of the Aussie batting lineup.
