Team India will be desperate to bounce back and seal their spot in the top four when they lock horns against Bangladesh today in Edgbaston, Birmingham. They need just one more point from their remaining two league games to secure a passage to the semi-finals. Bangladesh, on the other hand, will have to win this game at any cost to keep their semifinal hopes alive. A loss will see them exit the competition at the group stage itself. In case India faces defeat in the game, they will still be in contention with one more to go.

The Men in Blue suffered their first defeat of the competition against England on Sunday. In a high-scoring encounter at the same ground where India and Bangladesh will play, England beat India by 31 runs. Riding on century from Jonny Bairstow and fifties from Jason Roy, Ben Stokes, England piled up 337 for 6. In reply, India finished on 306 for 6 despite Rohit Sharma scoring a century and Virat Kohli scoring a fifty.

All eyes will be on their middle-order and the spinners in the upcoming game. The likes of Kedar Jadhav, MS Dhoni, Rishabh Pant, Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal failed to do well against England. Bangladesh, on the other hand, beat Afghanistan by 62 runs in their last outing. After scoring a competitive 262 on a tough Southampton track, the Tigers bowled out Afghanistan for just 200.

Going by the current form, India will be the favourites to win the clash. However, Bangladesh are more than capable of springing a surprise. The Tigers have done really well in the competition although the results have not gone their way more often than not. India will be looking to guard against complacency while Bangladesh would be desperate to put up yet another solid effort on the field.

How’s the weather expected to be?

With so much at stake, neither of the two teams would want a washout and fortunately for them, the weather forecast is very promising. According to AccuWeather, the chances of rainfall are zero throughout the match day. The cloud cover will be around 45% throughout while the humidity will be in the 60s at the start and will gradually drop to 50. The temperature will be hovering around 16-19 Degrees Celsius.
