ICC World Cup 2019: Potential semi-finalists for the tournament

Pakistan team always had a reputation to surprise the cricket fraternity with its unexpected performances. The same is true for the current Pakistan team which is currently in the rebuilding phase following the retirement of many veterans. Sarfaraz Ahmed’s team, on its day, can give an opposition a bombshell by performing exceptionally well and can also dishearten its fans on another day by giving the most dismaying performance.

The Men in Green’s strength lies in its bowling attack which can be lethal in seaming English conditions. They have a good spin bowling attack which might come handy in the mid overs. The team gave the glimpse of its potential in the Champions Trophy 2017  where they beat neighbors India in the final to lift the trophy. Also, in the recently concluded 50-overs series against South Africa, Sarfaraz and Co gave the hosts tough fight ultimately losing the five-match series 3-2.

The team just needs to regroup themselves and work hard on their batting, which has been the biggest concern for them in the past few years. Also, it is interesting to note here that Pakistan has always performed well in England: WC 1999 (Runners-up), T20 WC 2009 (Winners), ICC Champions Trophy 2017 (Winners). So, clearly, they are favorites to qualify for semi-finals of the World Cup 2019.
