Shikhar Dhawan will accompany Rohit Sharma at the top of the order. The Delhi left-hander has also been in excellent touch and has formed a lethal opening pair with Rohit Sharma. The Indian skipper has simply redefined the art of batting in white-ball cricket over the last few years. He has churned out hundreds for fun and has been the best batsman in ODI cricket for a while now. Since January 2016, Kohli has amassed 3702 runs at a stunning average of 88.14. 
Kohli’s consistency has been remarkable and he is the backbone of this <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/if-india-attacks-pakistan-will-retaliate-imran-khan/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Indian</a> batting line-up. Series after series, he has walked out and churned out runs consistently. He has led the team really well and India have lost just one bilateral ODI series under Kohli’s captaincy. Hence, Kohli at No. 3 is a force and completes a formidable top three.

<h3>Ambati Rayudu</h3>

No. 4 is one spot which has been under the scanner in this Indian One Day setup. As many as 11 players have got a chance at No. 4 but none of them could really cement their place. However, in the last six months or so, <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/syed-mushtaq-ali-trophy-2019-ambati-rayudu-to-lead-hyderabad-in-the-tournament/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Ambati Rayudu</a> has put his hand up and has been good in that slot. Ever since he made a comeback in the ODI side in September 2018, Rayudu has done well. 
He’s scored 606 runs at an average of over 50. He has shown he can adapt to different situations. The evergreen Jharkhand-born MS Dhoni will be playing his fourth and most probably his final World Cup. The former Indian skipper has been under the pump in recent times for his poor form and his inability to get going. However, he silenced his critics with a Man of the Series performance in <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/3-reasons-why-rishabh-pant-should-open-in-the-odi-series-vs-australia/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Australia</a>. He scored three consecutive fifties and took India home in a couple of tense run-chases. 
Also, the 37-year-old is still the best wicket-keeper in the country. Moreover, he has been brilliant behind the stumps and there are very few chances that go down when Dhoni dons the gloves. Despite not being in the best of forms, he has the backing of the captain and the coach.

<h3>Kedar Jadhav</h3>

Kedar Jadhav is a utility cricketer and is very underrated. He can come in and play a quick cameo, helping the team finish with a flourish and can also chip in with a few useful overs. In fact, he is India’s sixth bowler and Kohli has often turned to Jadhav to break a partnership and stem the run flow.

He is slated to bat at No. 7 but he could well be used as a floater in the batting line-up depending on the match situation.
