Team India is off to a shaky start in their chase, after opening batter KL Rahul got out on a golden duck on the bowling of debutant Naseem Shah. Chasing a total of 148 runs, Indian openers Rohit Sharma and Rahul took their guards on the crease. Skipper Rohit got off the mark on the very first delivery of the innings.

Rahul facing his first ball against Naseem tried to poke at the delivery bowled short of a length. However, Rahul could only manage to deflect it onto the stumps through an inside edge and was sent back to the pavilion. Naseem and his teammates celebrated the big wicket as Rahul could not even open his account.

Naseem could have scalped Kohli too

With Rahul going back to the pavilion, former team India skipper Virat Kohli came to the wicket. The right-handed batter decided to leave the first delivery he faced, but it was very close to the off-stump. Naseem on his fourth delivery of the over bowled a delivery outside the off-stump as Kohli looked to drive the ball through covers, but could only manage an outside edge.

Luckily for Kohli, despite a diving effort from batter Fakhar Zaman who was stationed at the second slip, he could not hold on to that catch as the right-handed batter got a reprieve.

Earlier in the match, the Men in Green had no answers to Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s brilliance with the ball as the right-arm pacer scalped a total of four wickets. Star all-rounder Hardik Pandya also scalped three crucial wickets for his side. Arshdeep Singh (two wickets) and Avesh Khan (one wicket) chipped in as well.

For Pakistan, the wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan played a crucial knock of 43 runs off 42 balls and stroked four boundaries and one maximum. Iftikhar Ahmed also played well for his 28 runs as Pakistan were bundled out just 147/10 in 19.5 overs.
