Pakistan cricket team is currently facing some strong criticism from its fans and former cricket greats due to their humiliating loss of a three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka with a clean sweep. The visitors were without their star players but they have given the results that the majority of the fans were not expecting from them and have certainly shown a brilliance that has left everyone in awe.

Following the loss suffered by the islanders in the ODI series, they reimbursed it by winning the T20I series against Pakistan. Debutant Oshada Fernando and leg-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga turned out to be architects of Sri Lanka’s third consecutive win and ended up making history by clean sweeping the hosts for the first time in the shortest format of this game.

Misbah-ul-Haq confronted Fakhar Zaman’s selection in the press conference

Yesterday, after T20I series loss, Sarfaraz Ahmed and Misbah-ul-Haq attended the press conference. During that a reporter pointed out a question on the selection process of the team and asked the head coach that why the Pakistan team is not letting Abid Ali open the innings in T20Is after the constant failures of Fakhar Zaman over that spot and are wasting the best-talented batsman Babar Azam by making him open the innings for the team as he is their best No. 3 batsman.

The reporter also added that “If a century in Champions Trophy 2017 final means it has given Fakhar a life visa to play for Pakistan,”

Over this question, Sarfaraz Ahmed, who was the part of the conference gave a cheeky smile on after the question was put in front of the head coach. Misbah-ul-Haq gave a hilarious reply to the reporter and said, “Fakhar Zaman has an average of 47 whereas Abid Ali has an average of 20 with a normal strike rate of 104 and if I include him in the playing XI, the common public will only shoot me down for this vulnerable decision,” Misbah-ul-Haq told the reporters in the press conference.

PCB recently appointed Misbah who replaced their Champions Trophy-winning coach Mickey Arthur after the poor show of Pakistan in World Cup 2019 and was also given the role of the national selector.
