Former India pacer S Sreesanth has made a big claim saying that if he was in the former India skipper Virat Kohli’s team then the Men in Blue would have won three more World Cups – in 2015, 2019, and 2021. S Sreesanth is one of the few players who were part of both Indian squads that lifted the T20 World Cup in 2007 and and ODI World Cup in 2011.

During the 2007 T20 World Cup, the right-arm pacer bowled several fiery spells for his team and took the all-important catch while being stationed at the fine-leg region in the final match against Pakistan as India went on to become the first ever champions of the global T20 tournament.

Sreesanth was banned from all formats following alleged involvement in spot-fixing

Sreesanth’s cricket career then took a bitter turn as he was banned from all forms of the game after his alleged involvement in spot-fixing. However, the right-arm pacer did not give up and made a strong comeback to the domestic circuit after nine years, but his wish to represent India one more time could not be fulfilled as he took retirement from all forms of cricket in March 2022.

“If I would have been a part of the team under Virat’s captaincy, India would have won the World Cup in 2015, 2019 & 2021,” Sreesanth said in an interaction with Times Now. The express pacer also talked about the art of bowling yorkers on a consistent basis and revealed that his coach taught him to bowl yorkers with a tennis ball.

“It is important to visualize while playing and small regions do not make any difference. Rather it is better to learn such tricks here, given there are a few distractions. My coach taught me how to throw yorkers with tennis balls. If you ask Bumrah, he’ll say that it is easy too,” he added.

Talking about Sreesanth’s numbers in the international arena, the right-arm pacer played 27 Tests, 53 ODIs, and 10 T20Is for the Men in Blue.
