India and Pakistan are the two countries suffering in this situation as well. For instance, in India, there have been more than 5,500 cases already while there are more than 4,000 people who have been affected by COVID-19 in Pakistan. Amidst all this, famous personalities of both nations are trying their best to help their countrymen.

Former Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Akhtar recently put forward a special request for India asking them to prepare 10,000 ventilators for the neighbours.

Shoaib Akhtar also proposed the IND v PAK matches to raise funds

The former fast-bowler has been trying to do his best by spreading awareness regarding the coronavirus threat. During a recent interview, Shoaib Akhtar said that if India can provide Pakistan with 10,000 ventilators in this hourof need, then the neighbouring country would always remember the gesture. According to the report by the Indian Express, the 44-year-old was also quoted saying that as individuals involved in sports, they can only propose matches, but the ultimate decision has to be taken by the authorities.

“If India can make 10,000 ventilators for us, Pakistan will remember this gesture forever. But we can only propose the matches. The rest is up to the authorities (to decide),” the former Pakistan pacer said. Shoaib Akhtar, over the years, has developed a reputation for being really humble. He has been involved in many charity works across Pakistan.

Recently, he had also suggested an idea of having a three-match series in Dubai between India and Pakistan. According to his plan, all the funds being raised from the series could be used for helping people to recover from COVID-19 crisis.

“You are bound to get massive viewership for the games. For the first time, both countries will play for each other. And whatever funds are generated through this can be donated equally to the government of India and Pakistan to fight this pandemic,” Shoaib had suggested.
