Following a successful Caribbean tour, Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was caught enjoying a cosy moment with his one-month-old daughter Nidhaya. Jadeja was in England for the ICC Champions Trophy when his wife Reeva Solanki gave birth to a baby girl. After the conclusion of the tournament, Jadeja headed straight to the West Indies for five ODIs and a T20 International. Thus, the left-handed all-rounder could not contain his excitement after he had to wait for over a month to spend some time with his daughter.

Jadeja was in Mumbai for an event. Despite being busy with the promotional event Jadeja’s attention was mainly concentrated on his wife and their newborn baby. It was evident as Jadeja kept a check on them constantly even while speaking to the reporters.

In an exclusive interview with Times of India, Jadeja revealed that with the arrival of his daughter, he will get lesser time with his most favourite asset, the Hayabusa. He also recalled some funny moments with MS Dhoni. Jadeja, who is famous for his love for horses also expressed his desire to ride alongside the former captain. He said, “More than a bike, I’ll be keen to go horse riding with him.”

Jadeja faces criticism for the Hardik Pandya runout

During the interview, Jadeja also faced severe criticisms for the dismissal of Hardik Pandya during the final of Champions Trophy 2017 against arch-rivals Pakistan. Pandya was playing on 76 when he was run out by Hasan Ali due to a mix-up by Jadeja which eventually cost India the match.

Defending himself, Jadeja said, “I don’t know who says good or bad things about me, but honestly the true followers of cricket, who understand the game, know that in cricket, these things happen. I think that cricket has witnessed lakhs of run outs. It’s a part of the game. I don’t think I need to worry much about it.”
