Indian fast bowler Mohsin Khan played for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 and impressed everybody with his disciplined bowling in his maiden IPL season. Ace India pacer Mohammed Shami, in a conversation with Mohsin’s coach Badruddin Siddiqui, said that he could make the LSG pacer India’s best all-rounder in four months.
Siddiqui, who has also worked with Shami in the past, said that Mohsin is also a good batter and revealed that even KL Rahul feels the same. He added that the 23-year-old has a good understanding of the game. Mohsin, however, did not get much of an opportunity to contribute with the bat, coming in mostly at number 10 in the IPL 2022.

After he was signed by LSG for a base price of INR 20 lakh, Mohsin played nine games in the IPL 2022 and picked up 14 wickets at an impressive economy rate 5.97 and an average of 14.07. He was the second-most economical bowler in the tournament after Sunil Narine of Kolkata Knight Riders (5.57) for a bowler who had bowled a minimum of 30 overs.
Mohsin was one among many other Indian youngsters such as Avesh Khan, Umran Malik, Arshdeep Singh and Tilak Varma, who impressed one and all in the IPL. This also earned Umran and Arshdeep a call-up from the Indian cricket team for India’s five-match T20I series against tourists South Africa, starting on June 9 (Thursday).
“When the auction was going on, I was sitting with Shami in his farmhouse. He was picked, and so was Mohsin. Shami told me, ‘If you just give me four months with him (Mohsin), I’ll make him India’s best all-rounder’. He is a very good batsman. And even KL Rahul said earlier that he has a good understanding of the game,” said Siddiqui on Sports Yaari.
“There can be many bowlers but you need to have a good understanding. You need to know what ball to use against which batsman. Today, Shami is a big bowler. But he is always ready to help the up and coming youngsters,” added Siddiqui.
